KUCHING, May 22: Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) is inviting Sarawakians to be part of the Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF) 2026 through a special locals-only ticket promotion, ‘Sia Sitok Renpores – Rindok Ati’, offering Sarawakians the opportunity to purchase a day pass at RM235.
According to a media release, the limited-time promotion is a local appreciation initiative aimed at bringing RWMF closer to the people of Sarawak and encouraging stronger local participation in one of the state’s most iconic international festivals.
“More than just a ticket promotion, the campaign is a call for Sarawakians to take pride in a festival that has grown from Sarawak’s own cultural landscape into a globally recognised celebration of music, heritage, and community.
“Open exclusively to Sarawakians, the promotion is available to those who can present valid proof of Sarawak residency or an NRIC with ‘K’ at the point of purchase.
“The RM235 day pass represents a special RWMF ticket offer created exclusively for Sarawakians and will only be offered through selected on-ground activations,” said STB.
The promotion will first be available at CarlsCrib Harvest Pesta 2026, taking place from May 22 to 24 from 6pm to 11pm at Farley Kuching, where STB will manage a ticket kiosk.
Following that, a second promotion window will be held during the RWMF Promotion Weekend from June 18 to 21, from 10am to 10pm at Plaza Merdeka, Kuching, where a dedicated RWMF promo booth will be set up for Sarawakian-only purchases.
STB chief executive officer, Dr Sharzede Datu Salleh Askor, said the initiative reflects STB’s commitment to ensuring that Sarawakians continue to feel a strong sense of ownership and belonging toward RWMF.
“Rainforest World Music Festival is part of Sarawak’s identity. It is born from our culture, our hospitality, and our rainforest setting, and it continues to carry Sarawak’s name to the world.
“Through this special locals-only promotion, we want more Sarawakians to experience the festival for themselves and feel proud that this world-class event belongs to them too,” she said.
She added that the on-ground activation approach was designed to make the offer accessible while creating excitement ahead of the festival.
“This is a limited-time local appreciation offer, available only at selected locations and during specific promotion periods. We encourage Sarawakians to take this opportunity, bring their friends and families, and be part of the RWMF experience,” she said.
