Explore the potential of cooperation between Sarawak, Indorama Ventures

BANGKOK, 14 September: The Prime Minister of Sarawak, His Highness Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg held a meeting with the top management of Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited headed by Aloke Lohia in Bangkok, Thailand.

The meeting is expected to open up space for Sarawak to explore potential cooperation in the petrochemical sector and refining industry.

Indorama Ventures is among the global petrochemical companies engaged in the production of materials such as plastics for packaging or (PET), polymers and specialty chemicals used in a range of everyday products including plastic bottles, textiles and industrial products.

For Sarawak, cooperation with global industry players such as Indorama Ventures has the potential to strengthen the rural industrial development agenda, in particular by harnessing state energy and gas resources to produce higher value-added products.

The meeting also gave Sarawak an opportunity to highlight the state's advantages as an investment destination, besides exploring new opportunities in regional petrochemical supply chain. - TVS
