Farmers receive fertiliser aid

PADAWAN: A total of 97 pepper farmers from the Tarat constituency have received fertiliser assistance from the Department of Agriculture, said its assemblyman Datuk Seri Roland Sagah Wee Inn recently.

The farmers, from 10 villages including Kampung Belimbing Darul Islam and Kampung Belimbing Kawa, were each given 12 bags of fertiliser, totalling 1,164 bags worth RM222,324.

“This brings the total number of farmers who have received fertiliser assistance to 173, involving 20 villages,” he said.

He added that the Siburan Agriculture Department had previously provided similar assistance to 76 farmers, distributing 912 bags of fertiliser worth RM174,192.

In total, 2,076 bags of fertiliser have been distributed at a cost of RM396,516.
