Fatimah says it is a must for these organisations to submit their applications for grants, outlining their activities, target groups, objectives and other relevant details in any proposals.

KUCHING (Sept 6): The Sarawak Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Ministry will prepare a template, meant to make it easier for non-government organisations (NGOs) to apply for funding for running activities.

Minister Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah said it is a must for these organisations to submit their applications for grants, outlining their activities, target groups, objectives and other relevant details in any proposals.

“If the activities align with our current focus on the 14 social issues, then you are headed on the right track, and you have come to the right channel,” she said when officiating at the ‘Woo Woo Market Charity Day’ in The Hills here today.

Fatimah acknowledged the struggles faced by many NGOs in drafting their proposals; thus, the proposed template should help them in this endeavour tremendously.

“I believe many NGOs in Sarawak are very sincere in their work and are committed in ensuring the well-being among the target groups that they are working with,” she said.

Earlier, Fatimah extended her congratulations and expressed hopes that activities like the Woo Woo Market Charity Day would continue to be run.

“Coming to a place like this, where people gather because they share the same purpose and vision – namely to help those who are vulnerable and disadvantaged in our society – is the reason why we carry out such activities.

“This place turns into something very special,” she said.

Also present were Special Olympics Kuching Chapter president Datin Dayang Mariani Abang Zain.
