KUCHING: Hilton Kuching kicks off their annual Christmas celebration with their Christmas tree lighting with the aim of giving back to the community in mind.
Hope Place, in a statement issued today, said the local non-governmental organisation (NGO) was invited for this year’s tree lighting ceremony.
It said Hilton Kuching has been a long-time partner with Hope Place, which supports about 300 underprivileged families here.
Their ‘Solution For Life’ campaign which started in 2019 was the first ever recycling soap project which has helped many, in terms of hygiene and health.
“It has been a tradition to celebrate the lighting of our Christmas tree, as the lights are a reminder of the warmth and light we bring to each other’s lives, especially during challenging times.
“Equally, highlighting the significance of coming together as a community to celebrate and share in the joy of the festive season,” said general manager of Hilton Kuching, Adrian Teh during the tree lighting recently.
This year, Hilton Kuching collectively contributed Christmas gifts for over 100 under privileged children, aged from one to 17, and essential household items for about 10 needy families.
Earlier this week, Hilton Kuching, represented by its commercial director, Christina Chang; director of Human Resource, Angela Chai and Travel with Purpose champion, Jason Chung handed over Christmas gifts and essential items to operations manager of Hope Place, Yong Tiong Yieng.
