KUCHING, June 7: A minor fire broke out in a shop in a shopping mall at Jalan Song here in Kuching today.

In a report, the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said that a call was received at 4.09pm today, and firefighters from the Tabuan Jaya station were deployed.

“The operations commander reported that the fire involved a pile of cardboard boxes located in the second-floor corridor outside a shop. The fire did not affect the building structure,” it said.

The report added that firefighters used a fire extinguisher to put out the flame, followed by the removal of the pile of boxes.

No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident. — DayakDaily
