Fire destroys car in Kampung Awat Awat, Lawas

LAWAS: A vehicle fire was reported today (July 17) in Kampung Awat Awat, here.

An emergency call was received at 9.48am, prompting a swift response from the Lawas Fire and Rescue Department.

A team, led by Mursen Timol, arrived promptly at the scene to find a gray Perodua Kancil car completely engulfed in flames.

A size-up conducted by the firefighters confirmed that the car was fully consumed by the fire, but fortunately, there were no occupants inside, and no injuries were reported.

The firefighters acted quickly, deploying two streams of water from their fire engine tank to douse the flames.

Their efforts successfully extinguished the fire, preventing it from spreading to nearby structures or vegetation.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
