Fire destroys four-door longhouse in Kpg Long Selulung, Baram

MIRI (Sept 15): A four-door longhouse in Kampung Long Selulung, Apoh, Baram, was completely destroyed in a fire that broke out around 8.35pm last night.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said they received a distress call at around 11.10pm and firefighters from the Marudi fire station were despatched to the scene.

“The fire involved four doors of the non-permanent structures, all of which were 100 per cent destroyed.

“Fortunately, no injuries were reported,” it added.

Bomba said due to the remote location of the longhouse, the firefighters took over eight hours to reach the scene.
