Fire destroys warehouse office, damages tanker trucks

KUCHING: A wee-hour fire razed a warehouse office and damaged five oil tanker trucks along Jalan Kidurong this morning.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the 2.01 am incident.

Firemen from Kidurong and Bintulu stations were dispatched to the scene at Tanjong Kidurong Light Industrial Estate after receiving a distress call.

They found the warehouse office destroyed and the front parts of five oil tanker trucks damaged.

The firefighters had to resort to water from a nearby fire hydrant to fight the flames.

The team completed their operation at 4.05 am.

The cause of the fire and losses incurred are still under investigation.
