Fire in Bau’s Kpg Tringus destroys house and car, damages three other houses

KUCHING (Oct 21): A house and a car were completely destroyed, while three other houses were slightly damaged in a fire that occurred in Kampung Tringus, Bau last night.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from the Bau fire station were rushed to the scene after receiving a call on the incident at 10.02pm.

“A house and a sedan were completely destroyed while three other houses were slightly damaged.

“An elderly woman, who was alone in the house, managed to be rescued by the villagers,” it said in a statement.

Bomba said the firefighters managed to put out the fire using the water that was sourced from the nearby fire extinguisher.

After ensuring the situation was under control, the operation was called off at 11.45pm.
