Fire partially damages saloon car parked in Sri Aman

KUCHING (July 31): A saloon car was partially damaged after its engine suddenly caught fire while parked near a food court in Sri Aman around 11.40am today.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the fire did not spread to other parts of the vehicle.

“The fire was already extinguished upon the arrival of firefighters by members of the public who had used a fire extinguisher,” Bomba said in a statement.

Firefighters ensured the flames would not reignite before wrapping up the operation at 12.10pm.

Bomba is still investigating the cause of the fire and ascertaining the value of losses incurred.
