Fire razes house, 4WD in Kpg Ulu Nyalau in Bintulu

BINTULU (July 22): A fire destroyed a house and a four-wheel-drive (4WD) in Kampung Ulu Nyalau here yesterday.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said they received a distress call at 8.32pm and six firefighters from the Samalaju fire station were dispatched to the scene.

“All three male occupants of the house, aged 69, 22 and 25, managed to escape unharmed prior to the arrival of the firefighters,” it added.

Bomba said the the firefighters managed to bring the fire under control by 9:50pm and overhaul operations were then conducted to ensure that the fire was completely extinguished.

“The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are still under investigation,” it said.
