Firemen rescue senior citizen found sitting on roof of house in Sibu

SIBU (July 29): A 78-year-old man was rescued by firefighters after being found sitting on the roof of a house at Jalan Tekam here yesterday.

Sibu Central fire station, in a statement, said they were notified by the police about the incident at 2.09pm and eight firefighters were despatched to the scene.

“When the team arrived, it was true that a senior citizen was sitting on the roof of the house as reported.

“The operation commander then conducted a ‘size up’ and instructed the firefighters to help bring down the man from the roof,” the statement said.

The statement did not mention how the man ended up on the roof.

The firefighters ended the operation after the man was brought down from the roof.
