First ever Miri Arts Festival happening on Aug1- 4

MIRI: The stage is set for the inaugural Miri Arts Festival 2024 (MAF’24) to be hosted by the city from August 1- 4.

MAF’24 is a celebration of the arts, which promises to ignite Miri city with dazzling festivities, showcasing diverse creativity and cultural celebration,
stretching along the esteemed venues of Pullman Miri waterfront and Miri Times Square.

“We are thrilled to introduce the inaugural Miri Arts Festival, a landmark event that celebrates the rich cultural tapestry and artistic talent of our city,” said Azeez Salleh the Festival Director.

An innovative digital art experience will also be introduced during MAF’24 marking a historic milestone in Miri’s cultural landscape.

Other highlights of this inaugural edition captivating artworks by both emerging and renowned talents, unveiling a diverse array of visual masterpieces.

There will be performances by local and international artists, a vibrant
marketplace showcasing traditional crafts, culinary delights, and cultural demonstrations.

Additionally, an exclusive performances by the popular artist Anuar Zain, a witty stand-up comedian by Douglas Lim, virtuosa violinist by Nisa Addina and emotional expressive artist Mahsuri Shark will take centre stage on August 3.

“This festival is a testament to Miri’s vibrant creative community, and we invite everyone to join us in this celebration” Azeez stated.

MAF’24 is proudly presented by AX International, in collaboration with Dewan Usahawan Bumiputera Sarawak (DUBS), and is supported by Ministry of Culture, Arts and Tourism Malaysia (MOTAC); Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak (MTCP); Sarawak Tourism Board; Miri City Council; Pullman Miri Waterfront Hotel, and Miri Times Square.
