BINTULU (Oct 7): Five individuals were injured following an accident involving a car and a van on Jalan Saberkas Bintulu-Samalaju last night.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said two men in the car sustained severe injuries from the crash.
Bomba reported that three others, who were trapped in the van, sustained only minor injuries.
Firefighters from the Kidurong fire station were despatched to the scene after receiving a distress call at 8.40pm.
“Upon assessing the situation, the operation commander instructed the team to open the front passenger door of the car and extricate two severely injured victims using a scoop stretcher.
“The team then used rescue tools to free three lightly injured victims trapped in the van.
“All victims were handed over to the Ministry of Health personnel and transported to the hospital for treatment,” Bomba said in a statement.
