KUCHING, Sept. 22: Four search and rescue (SAR) teams of the Sarawak Briged General Movement Force (PGA) will enter the Borneo desert for four days to test the level of readiness, physical endurance and rescue skills of members.

The final preparations for the mission were initiated through a delivery session of the Search and Rescue Training Operations Command (EK-SAR) of the Sarawak PGA JKDNKA Briged in Kuching, yesterday.

The operation order was delivered by the Government Officer of 11th Battalion PGA Batu Kawa, Superintendent Ku Majidin Che Ku Jusoh who also acts as the EK-SAR Field Officer 2026 JKDNKA Briged Sarawak PGA.

According to him, the four-day mission is aimed at testing the mastery of SAR knowledge and skills acquired by members throughout previous training series.

"Throughout the training, each team will face real challenges to Borneo's forest environment, including applying navigation skills, rescue techniques and emergency management.

"The exercise also emphasizes the accuracy of action and teamwork in dealing with challenging situations in desert areas", he said.

He said the four-day period in Borneo's wilderness was a field to test how much knowledge, skills and readiness members could translate when faced with real challenges.
