MIRI: Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Labour, Immigration, and Project Monitoring) and Mulu assemblyman, Datuk Gerawat Gala, praised the organising of the Community Run and Family Day for the Mulu constituency.
The event was held on Saturday (Aug 24) at the Piasau Boat Club (PBC).
In his speech, Gerawat expressed his enthusiasm for the event, highlighting its role in fostering unity and civic consciousness among the community members.
“Events like this are just the beginning. We have plans to introduce more programs that will further strengthen the bonds within our community in Mulu.
“It is essential that we foster a spirit of unity, kinship, and civic awareness in our society, especially here in Sarawak, where inclusivity is a core value,” said Gerawat.
He emphasised the importance of environmental protection and encouraged the community to take an active role in preserving their surroundings.
“We need to protect our environment and ensure that our community remains engaged and aware of the needs around us. This is very, very important,” he added.
The event saw participation from various community members and leaders, including Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) youth Mulu chief, Usat Bilong, who was also present to show his support.
