KOTA KINABALU (Sept 23): Sabah Housing and Real Estate Developers Association (Shareda) president Datuk Chua Soon Ping, hopes the Federal Government can provide enough allocations for Sabah’s water and electricity infrastructure in the coming budget.
“We wish the Federal Government give us enough, at least for infrastructure that we require, especially for water and also electricity. These are basic infrastructure,” he said.
He expressed the possibility of setting up data centres in Sabah, which he said is currently non-existent, and added that the two things crucial for data centres are 24-hour electricity and water supply.
“So with this, we want the Federal Government to allocate more budget,” he said.
Chua claimed that data centres are moving away from Singapore to Johor Baharu, Penang, Selangor and possibly Sarawak due to its excellent and cheaper electricity rate.
Meanwhile, the grand lucky draw prize for PROPEX 2024, a BYD Dolphin electric vehicle, was handed over to the winner, Thien Vun Su, on Monday.
“PROPEX has always been the ideal place for all home buyers and investors to get the best deals in the real estate industry, as all major developers and industry players are under one roof for four days to bring you the latest and most attractive deals,” said Chua.
He added that as developers, they are always encouraged to build better projects with lower prices.
“As tough as it is for us to achieve, we in Shareda are always trying our best in closing the gap balancing by implementation of a strategic approach to balancing supply and demand,” he said.
