Governor to attend Sarawak Day celebration

BINTULU: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, and his wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, have arrived at Bintulu Airport to attend the Sarawak Day 2024 celebration here tomorrow (July 22).

He was welcomed by Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Datuk Dr Ripin Lamat, Tanjong Batu assemblyman Johnny Pang Leong Ming, and deputy chairman of Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) Datuk Haidar Khan.

Upon arrival, their entourage was greeted with cultural performances including silat, hadrah beradat, and lion dance by Perguruan Seni Silat Langkah Pertiwi Sarawak, Kumpulan Kebudayaan Warisan & Kebajikan Islam Al-Mustaqim, and Pertubuhan Penganut Tua Pek Kong Bintulu.

Wan Junaidi and wife will be attending several programmes in conjunction with the Sarawak Day 2024 celebration, including the Sarawak Day 2024 Thanksgiving Celebration and a luncheon with local community leaders here.
