KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 12): As the Year of the Horse approaches, Grab Malaysia reaffirms that the true spirit of Chinese New Year extends beyond celebration to meaningful human connection.

Through its ongoing #GrabBersamaMalaysia initiative, Grab continues to deliver festive warmth to communities in need, ensuring that the joy of the season is shared with those who might otherwise celebrate alone.

More than a seasonal campaign, the initiative underscores Grab’s sustained commitment to fostering a more compassionate and inclusive Malaysia.

This year’s outreach carries added significance through the involvement of Grab’s driver- and delivery-partners, who serve communities across the nation each day.

Drawing on their firsthand insights and close understanding of local needs, they played a key role in identifying homes and organisations most deserving of support and festive cheer.

The initiative ultimately reached nearly 200 individuals across orphanages, nursing care centres, and organisations supporting persons with disabilities in Penang, Perak, Johor, Sarawak, and the Klang Valley.

“The festive season is a time for togetherness,” said Adelene Foo, Managing Director of Grab Malaysia.

“This year, we wanted our community efforts to be even more personal. Our driver and delivery partners are the eyes and ears on the ground, and it was their insight that led us to these specific homes. Seeing the joy these visits brought was a powerful reminder that when we look out for one another, the impact is felt deeply.”

A highlight of the initiative was the heartfelt bai nian visits, where 50 Grab partners and company leaders spent time engaging with residents and distributing ‘bai nian li wu’ (festive gifts).

These meaningful visits brought warmth and festive cheer to several welfare homes across Malaysia, including Xin Shan Le Welfare Centre in Penang, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Kanak Kanak Berjasa Kinta in Perak, Pusat Jagaan Warga Tua Sri Orkid in Johor, Persatuan Kebajikan Kasih Sayang in Kuching, and Rumah Bakti Al Kausar in the Klang Valley.

Leveraging the wider Grab ecosystem, Jaya Grocer supported the initiative by sponsoring essential supplies including rice, flour, cooking oil, canned goods, cleaning products, and Mandarin oranges, helping the homes prepare for the festive season with greater ease.

Beyond its community outreach initiatives, Grab Malaysia is also elevating festive storytelling this Chinese New Year with a fresh and innovative creative approach.

In an industry first collaboration, Grab unveiled a brand film that brings together eight different brands within a single cohesive narrative.

Inspired by the spirit of a family reunion, the film reflects how diverse personalities, traditions, and life journeys come together in one shared space, mirroring the Malaysian festive experience.

At its core, the message is clear and compelling: whatever Malaysians need this festive season, from meals and gifts to everyday essentials, Grab remains the one app they can depend on.

Titled “Wait… Whose CNY Ad Is This?”, the 2026 Chinese New Year brand film is now streaming on Grab Malaysia’s official YouTube channel.

Through #GrabBersamaMalaysia, Grab continues to demonstrate that corporate responsibility extends beyond business performance.

It is about strengthening communities, fostering compassion, and making a meaningful difference where it matters most.

This Chinese New Year, Grab is not merely delivering passengers, food and parcels, but creating moments of connection and belonging that bring Malaysians closer together.
