Ground floor bedroom destroyed in fire

KOTA SAMARAHAN: A bedroom in a double-storey house at Taman Impiana, Jalan Kuap, was destroyed by fire this morning (July 15).

Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported in the 10.16 am incident.

A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from the Siburan and Kota Samarahan stations were dispatched to the scene after receiving a distress call.

Upon arrival, they discovered that the bedroom on the ground floor was destroyed. The extinguishing works were performed using water sourced from a nearby fire hydrant.

The flames were brought under control by 10.40 am, followed by overhaul works to ensure there was no risk of reignition.

Once the situation was deemed safe, the teams ended the operation at 11.33 am
The cause of the fire and the losses incurred are still under investigation.
