KUCHING: Harimau Malaya will head into the inaugural FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 with a fresh look, as Puma rolls out new home and away kits ahead of Malaysia’s campaign in Indonesia.
The home jersey brings a distinctly retro feel to the national colours, combining yellow with black vertical stripes inspired by the markings of the Malayan tiger.
For away days, Malaysia will switch to a blue-grey design, with red and white detailing around the collar adding a nod to the national colours.
Puma, the official apparel and jersey partner of Harimau Malaya, has priced the retail fan version at RM319, while the authentic player edition will cost RM549.
The launch comes days before the national squad departs for Jakarta on Tuesday for the FIFA ASEAN Cup, which runs from Sept 25 to Oct 5.
Malaysia have been drawn in Group A alongside hosts Indonesia, Singapore and Bangladesh, while Group B comprises Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines and Pakistan.
Ranked 136th in the world, Harimau Malaya begin their campaign against 181st-ranked Bangladesh at Gelora Bung Karno in Jakarta on Sept 25.
A meeting with hosts Indonesia follows at the same venue on Sept 28, before Malaysia travel to Bandung to face Singapore at Stadium Si Jalak Harupat on Oct 1.
Under the tournament format, only the winners of Groups A and B will advance to the final at Gelora Bung Karno on Oct 5.
The two runners-up will contest the third-place playoff earlier the same day.
