KUCHING (July 21): The Sarawak government has allocated RM500,000 to SMK Sebuyau to build the school’s new multi-purpose hall, said Dato Sri Julaihi Narawi.

The Sebuyau assemblyman said this will enable the school to organise more activities in the future.

According to a report by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), the Utility and Telecommunication Minister announced this when closing the SMK Sebuyau Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) Excellence Seminar in Sebuyau on Saturday.

He also announced that RM60,000 would be allocated to the school’s Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG).

On the seminar, Julaihi said that the programme was suggested by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg to encourage and motivate students before taking their SPM examination.

He hoped that all Form 5 students from SMK Sebuyau, SMK Sri Sadong, SMK Simunjan No.1 and SMK Gedong would make the most of the seminar in their efforts to strive for success in the future.

Also present were Association of Wives of Ministers and Assistant Ministers of Sarawak (Sabati) exco Datin Sri Sadiah Buji, who is also Julaihi’s wife, Sebuyau district officer Ayuradiman Bujang, and Simunjan district education officer Hasbi Acheh.
