KUCHING (Oct 14): The Kuching Autistic Association (KAA) will host a charity run entitled ‘Meow Autism Run 2025’, to be held at the foyer of the Kuching South City Council (MKBS) building here on April 13 next year.
The charitable body in a statement today said this event marks the eighth charity run organised by the KAA, meant to contribute to the association’s centre’s annual operating cost of approximately RM1.3 million.
“The fees collected amount to approximately 30 per cent of what is needed to run the centre.
“Annually, KAA requires about RM750,000, so as to provide services to the autism community,” added the association.
The charity run comprises of a 5km and 3km run.
Moreover, participants registering for ‘Category A’ are offered a T-shirt, a medal, and a runner’s bib, while ‘Category B’ offers a T-shirt and a runner’s bib, as ‘Category C’, a medal and a runner’s bib.
From now until 11.59pm on Oct 23, the association is holding its super early bird promotion as ‘Category A’, ‘Category B’, and ‘Category C’ registration fees are offered at RM45, RM30, and RM20, respectively.
Following the super early bird promotion, and until 11.59pm on Dec 31, the early bird promotion fees for ‘Category A’, ‘Category B’, and ‘Category C’ will be offered respectively at RM50, RM35, and RM25, while the normal rate following the promotions are RM55, RM40, and RM30, respectively.
The closing registration date is at 11.59pm on Feb 28 next year.
Meanwhile, KAA said this year’s Meow Autism Run, held on April 28, had recorded 3,000 participants, including 200 children and families with autism.
“We hope to see more participation in next year’s run from all sectors of the community to support autism awareness,” read the statement.
