SARATOK: A briefing and presentation programme on the Sarawak Government’s Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 for the Kalaka constituency will be held next November.

Kalaka assemblyman Mohamad Duri said it is an initiative to inform the public, especially those in rural areas, about the Sarawak government’s efforts.

“In connection with this, among the key points of the programme will be to inform the public of several initiatives by the Sarawak government under the leadership of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

“In addition, there will be an explanation about Sarawak’s green economy, a briefing on financial assistance for home purchases, housing project briefings, and rental financial assistance.

“Exhibitions from agencies such as the Social Security Organisation (Perkeso), the Housing Development Corporation (HDC), the Sarawak Social Welfare Department (JKM), the Betong Division Development Agency (BDDA), and many others will also be available,” he said.

He said this after chairing the programmes preparation meeting at the Saratok District Office yesterday.

The meeting was also attended by four political secretaries to the Sarawak Premier, Abdul Samat Ghani, John Nyigor, Abang Abdul Aziz, and Bell Bernard Aggan, along with community leaders and heads of villages (KMKK).

Mohamad explained that the briefing and presentation on Sarawak’s PCDS 2030 is significant to ensure the public are aware of all efforts, plans, and initiatives that they can benefit from.

“I must emphasise that the residents of the Kalaka constituency are not left out of Sarawak’s planning.

“Aside from what has been implemented and is currently being implemented, there are many more developments to come… in villages, longhouses, markets, and housing estates.

“Development will also extend from the town to the residents’ farmland.

“God willing, the roads, which are vital access points, will be comprehensively constructed,” he said.

He reiterated the advice for all KMKK and Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) to proactively play their respective roles.

Also present were Saratok District officer Muhammad Dino Amid.
