KUCHING (July 31): The KGS Monthly Medal Pickleball Tournament (July) that was hosted at Kelab Golf Sarawak here last Saturday attracted 60 members and invited picklers from other clubs.
Mohamad Zamharie Bujang beat Hafisz Rachman Drahman 11-0, 11-6 to win the men’s singles title, while the losing semifinalists were Hamden Moss and Muqri Othman.
The women’s singles final saw Ng Yan Ling beating Ivy Phang 11-0, 11-4, while the losing semifinalists were Mary Chua Swan Yong and Lily Huang Li Yuan.
In the Doubles Cup final Ahmad Badruzzaman Hamidi-Amin Adenan beat Fir Affandi-Vong Joon Mui 11-5, 11-3.
In joint third were Mohamad Zamharie Bujang-Esa Hossen and Muhd Alwi-Mohammad Sahrain.
Mohammad Firdaus Safiee-Zukrie Safian were crowned as the Doubles Plate champions after they defeated Mohd Khairulnizam-Malek Pawi 21-19.
The losing semifinalists were Chong Kah Yi-Lily Huang Li Yuan and Mohammad Azizi Zaidel-Ishak Iskandar Landau.
Amin Anuar-Kelana Kipli bagged the Doubles Bowl title after they beat Lim Sin Kiat-Chiew Chui Hoe 21-18, while the losing semifinalists were Hamden Moss-Mary Chua Swan Yong and Ruslan Bujang-Wan Khalik Wan Muhammad.
The Doubles Shield went to Adam David Liew Abdullah-Soo Lake Chai who beat Mohd Fikrie-Amirul Annuar 21-16.
The losing semifinalists were Irfan Abdullah-Jeremy Wee Wei Zhe and Abang Abdurrahim-Nazatul Syima.
Other individual awards included Mohd Fikrie (Best Sportsmanship), Amin Anuar (Best Male Pickler) and Vong Joon Mui (Best Female Pickler).
The organising chairman was Hafisz, who is also KGS Pickleball chairman while prizes were given away by KGS deputy president Khairil Azmi.
This tournament was jointly organised by KGS and The Jokers and supported by Kuching Pickleball Association.
