KUCHING, 22 Sept: The Head of the Community and Chief of the People (KMKK) plays a role as a liaison in conveying and explaining Sarawak's development aspirations to the people, not just providing information about government projects and initiatives.
The Chief Political Secretary to the Prime Minister of Sarawak, Dato Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman said that a comprehensive understanding of the state development goals and objectives is important so that KMKK can help the public understand and implement every initiative undertaken by the government.
"The information to be communicated is not only related to the projects or initiatives implemented by the government, but more importantly it is an understanding of the direction of Sarawak as well as the objectives that Prime Minister Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg wants to achieve", he said.
He said this during a media briefing after completing the Explanation and Explanation of Issues Programme during 'Sarawak Government Achievement Initiative' at Sarawak State Library, here today.
According to Fazzrudin, when the KMKK understands the overall goals and concepts of an initiative, they can play a more effective role in helping the government achieve state development objectives.
He said the role also ensures that society understands the benefits of implemented development, including the impact of flooding on people even if some initiatives are not directly felt.
"Although not all initiatives can be directly felt by every citizen, the impact of such development is believed to benefit the entire community", he said. - TVS
