SIBU (Oct 17): Kolej Laila Taib (KLT) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate with Kolej Komuniti Miri (KKM).

In a statement, KLT said the significant partnership was formalised during the recent ‘Festival Terbuka Kolej Komuniti Miri’.

“The MoU marks a new chapter in fostering educational cooperation between the two institutions, aimed at enriching academic opportunities and enhancing student development through shared resources and expertise,” said KLT.

Among those present during the MoU signing were Transport Minister Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin, KKM director Harmen Muda, and Education Department deputy director i Kamaludin Daud.

Separately, KLT’s Interior Architecture Department also held a productive management meeting with the KKM leadership team to explore potential programme mapping between the institutions.

During the session, KLT marketing manager Devebra Andira Mawar formally announced the availability of the 100 per cent Laila Taib Scholarship for certificate students who graduate with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.70 or higher.

“This is in addition to the 100 per cent Laila Taib Bursary for students with a household income of B40,” she said.

Additionally, an interactive session was organised for students from KKM’s Certificate in Interior Design.

The event not only aimed to broaden their knowledge of the interior design industry but also provided insights into the student experience at KLT.

Four KKM alumni, who are now pursuing their studies at KLT, were invited to share their personal journeys and experiences, offering valuable perspectives on academic life and opportunities at KLT.
