KUCHING (Aug 2): The Korea Technology and Information Promotion Agency (TIPA) has expressed interest in collaborating with Sarawak to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) expand market reach.
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said this after leading a delegation to meet with TIPA in Seoul yesterday to explore potential collaborations that can significantly benefit the development of SMEs in Sarawak.
“TIPA has expressed its interest to establish potential areas of collaboration with Sarawak through exchange and transfer of technology, joint research and development with research and development (R&D) institutions and business-to-business (B2B) business matching between Sarawak and South Korea to help SMEs to expand market reach,” he said in a statement.
The statement said TIPA is a dedicated government agency to support and advance the competitiveness of SMEs in South Korea.
“Its roles are to foster innovation, provide technological assistance, and enhance competitiveness of SMEs through various support programmes and services for sustainable growth,” added the statement.
