Kpg Bahagia Jaya fire: Three families receive donations from Pelawan rep, community leaders

SIBU (July 15): Three families, whose houses at Kampung Bahagia Jaya, Jalan Teku here were gutted by a fire recently, received donations.

The donations were a joint contribution from Pelawan assemblyman Datuk Michael Tiang’s service centre, Penghulus and Kapitans in a bid to lessen their plight.

The donations amounted to RM2,650.

Penghulu Ting Tien Huat, who represent Tiang, handed over the donation to Kong Shin Fen, Ting Chung Ling and Charles Kong at the Pelawan service centre here today.

It was reported on July 10 that a disabled woman perished in the fire.

Fire and Rescue Department Sibu chief Andy Alie had said all three wooden houses were completely razed in the incident, rendering 26 people homeless.
