KUCHING: KPJ Healthcare Berhad has reaffirmed its dedication to transparency and ethical practices in the healthcare sector by signing the Integrity and Responsibility Pledge (IBR).

MACC Deputy Commissioner (Education) Mardiana Han said the IBR was a voluntary initiative aimed at promoting anti-corruption measures and ensuring that organisations adhere to the highest ethical standards.

The pledge is taken by individuals in their personal capacity, emphasising their commitment to avoiding corrupt practices and performing their duties with integrity.

“Corruption, abuse of power, and misconduct hinder national development, widen the poverty gap, and reduce the country’s competitiveness,” Mardiana said during the IBR ceremony yesterday (Oct 15).

“By promoting transparency, integrity, and good governance, we can ensure that public services are delivered with honesty and efficiency.”

Over 115 KPJ staff from Kuching, Sibu, and Miri participated in the ceremony, which was also conducted virtually via Microsoft Teams.

The ceremony culminated in the signing of the anti-corruption pledge by the general managers of KPJ Kuching, Sibu, and Miri Specialist Hospitals, witnessed by Mardiana.
