KUCHING (Oct 3): Kuching International Airport (KIA) will conduct an Aerodrome Emergency Exercise (AEX) from 7pm tonight.
Malaysia Airports announced the night drill on its official Facebook page and X (formerly Twitter).
According to a notice, the exercise is “to evaluate the command, cooperation, and coordination among multi-agency responses to passenger aircraft accidents at the airport”.
The operator said the notice is to alert members of the public, especially aeroplane passengers, about the exercise.
“Rest assured, all necessary safety measures will be in place to ensure smooth operations,” said the post.
“If you notice any unusual activities or setups, please stay calm – they are part of the planned exercise.”
Malaysia Airports also called on the public to share the information.
