Kuching man fined RM2,500 for trespassing into private property in Miri

MIRI (July 12): A 30-year-old man was fined RM2,500 in default four months in jail today after pleading guilty to trespassing into a private property.

The sentence was imposed by Magistrate Randu Rangen after considering several aspects, including the accused’s guilty plea and appeal, the facts of the case, the severity of the offence, and the public interest.

Tilletson Midon from Jalan Desa Wira in Kuching pleaded for a lighter sentence, noting that this was his first criminal offence.

He was charged under section 447 of the Penal Code which provides six month’s imprisonment or a fine of RM3,000 or both if found guilty.

According to the facts of the case, Tilletson was found to have trespassed into a house belonging to Sahizad Said located at Jalan Pujut 8C here on July 8 around 6.30pm.

Inspector Mudzilawati Abdul Rahman prosecuted the case while the accused was not represented by a defence lawyer.
