SIBU: Sekolah Kerajaan (SK) Rantau Panjang stole the limelight by sweeping the top three prizes in the Lantern Design Competition 2024 held at Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) Kiang Hin’s multi-purpose hall here on Friday (Oct 4).
The champion went to Jackson Larry Fowaro while Valina Natasha Padatrski and Clorfinayana Tyralis Canalies Emban took the respective second and third place.
The competition, held in conjunction with the Mid-Autumn Festival 2024 was organised by SJKC Kiang Hin Board of Management in collaboration with Neighbourhood Area (KRT) Pasar Teku and Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) of Mederka, Jalan Oya, Jalan Berjaya, Jalan Muhibbah and Pearl Garden.
A total of 45 students from four primary schools including SK Sungai Passai, SK Kampung Bahagia Jaya and SJKC Kiang Hin in Teku area took part in the competition.Officiating at the competition’s prize presentation ceremony, Department of National Unity and National Integration Sibu Division assistant officer, Mohammad Noridzwan Sawi congratulated the three bodies for working together to organise this special activity.
He pointed out that the department fully supported and encouraged KRT to hold such activity and collaborated with educational institutions in the area.
“It is through this effort that the department can ensure that each neighborhood achieve the objective of establishing the KRT. Through this effort, we instill the value of unity and maintain it at all times.
“I hope that KRT Pasar Teku and the school will continue to cooperate in implementing such programme in the future,” Noridzwan added.
