LIMBANG, Nov 28: Progress on the Sungai Limbang bridge and river embankment projects are between 55 to 60 per cent completed so far, says Federal Deputy Minister of Transport Datuk Hasbi Habibollah.
He added that the new completion date for the bridge project is Nov 2025.
“I hope everything will go smoothly. I was told that the building materials are ready at the project site. Still, the weather might affect its implementation,” he said in a Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) report today.
He said this during a site visit to the Limbang Bridge Project 2 and Limbang Waterfront Project Phase 3 on Nov 26.
The Limbang MP added that the bridge will make it easier to enter Limbang in addition to using the Brunei Darussalam bridge at Teluk Brunei.
As for the river embankment project, he was informed by the contractor that it is expected to be completed before Gawai 2024.
“We hope the project’s three phases will be completed simultaneously, including Phase 1, which collapsed in front of Musbee Café.
“I was informed Phase 1 will start next year and be implemented by the Public Works Department (JKR),” he said. — DayakDaily
