Lodge International School students continue to shine in Cambridge exam

Lodge International School Cambridge A-Level straight A*/As students.

KUCHING (Aug 15): Lodge International School is once again celebrating excellent results for the 2024 Cambridge A-Level examinations.

According to a press release, 37 per cent of the cohort achieved straight As/A*s, with six students scoring straight A*s.

They were Clement Chin Yuen Shen, who notably took on the hefty load of five subjects and scored 5A*s; David Luk Ku Chian, Carmen Kueh Ning, Lim Zi Jing and Marcus Leong U Han, who scored 4A*s; and Penelope Jade Jing Ying Hopkins, who scored 3A*s.

Furthermore, students who took Further Maths scored remarkably well, with over 70 per cent achieving A*/As, and 51.4 per cent of Mathematics students achieving A*/As.

The cohort also maintained a solid performance in the sciences, with approximately two thirds of the students achieving A*/As (63 per cent in Biology, 58.3 per cent in Chemistry and 63.6 per cent in Physics).

Those taking Social Science subjects also delivered a solid performance, especially with Psychology, where 73.3 per cent of the students achieved A*/As.

In addition, 66.7 per cent of the students in History, 50 per cent of the students in Economics and 40 per cent in Business achieved A*/As.

Lodge International School principal Markus Gatuman said though the Cambridge A-Levels examinations are stringent and demanding, the students still delivered a wonderful performance.

“It could not have been done without their hard work and dedication, as well as the invaluable support of our experienced A-Level teachers and the students’ parents,” he said.

Meanwhile, the school’s A-Levels deputy principal Chung Miaw Ling said: “Our students are given a holistic education where they learn to make informed choices and take responsibility for their actions.

“They have shown that they are able to achieve academic excellence while also actively participating in extracurricular activities,” she said.
