Malaysia and Indonesia strengthened cooperation in gravel handling

KUCHING, Sept 16: Malaysia and Indonesia will strengthen cooperation to address the impact of cross-border dust, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said.

He said the issue was among the issues discussed with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto when the two leaders met at the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi, India, recently.

"We will work together to mitigate the impact of cross-border dust", he said as he met after the Official Handover of Bintulu Port from the Federal Government to the Sarawak Government in the Hall of Famous People, Kuching International Airport, here today.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi also announced that the issue will be discussed in his meeting with Vice President of Indonesia, Gibran Rakabuming Raka during a visit to Jakarta tomorrow.

He said this after attending the High Level Disaster Management Committee Meeting here today.
