Malaysia Day: Church of Ministers urges people to continue preserving unity, national well-being

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 16: In conjunction with the celebration of Malaysia Day 2026 today, the Jemaah Ministers' line urged people to continue to preserve unity, mutual respect and respect for diversity as a foundation of national strength, in addition to ensuring progress and prosperity can be enjoyed together.

Minister of Communications Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil said the celebration of Malaysia Day reminds people that this country is built on understanding, solidarity and determination to step forward as one Malaysia.

"The story of the formation of Malaysia does not belong to one state, province or group. This is the story of all of us, from Peninsula Sabah to Sarawak.

"In the spirit of Segulai Sejalai, let us continue to cherish history, preserve unity and ensure that the country's progress and well-being can be felt by all its people", he said in a Facebook post.

Interior Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the peace and harmony enjoyed today was born from the sacrifices of previous generations and the continued efforts of all Malaysians.

He said the differences of race, religion, culture and background are not barriers, but rather they form Malaysia's strength and identity.

"Our responsibility today is to continue to protect what has been built, respect each other and strengthen unity amongst one another", he said, praying Malaysia continues to move forward as a safe, prosperous and prosperous country for all.

Meanwhile, Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said that being a Malaysian is not just an identity but a trust for the people to keep peace together, preserve harmony and defend the sovereignty of the homeland.

"A strong Malaysia is not built on its own. It was born of people united, trusting each other and standing firm for the country. May the unity we are building continue to be a strength of Malaysia", he said.

The Minister of Human Resources, Grandad R. Ramanan also urged the people to continue strengthening spirit of solidarity, mutual respect and shoulder-to-shoulders building a more advanced, inclusive and prosperous MADANI Malaysia for every citizen.

He said that even though Malaysians are of different races, religions, cultures and backgrounds, they all share one homeland, one hope and one future.

"Happy Malaysia Day to all Malaysians. Malaysia belongs to us together. United in heart, firm as one nation", he said.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said Malaysia Day not only commemorates the unification of Peninsular, Sabah and Sarawak, but reinforces the commitment to building a healthy, prosperous and inclusive country.

He said that the health of the people is the key to a country's prosperity. Thus, every Malaysian regardless of background has the right to access fair, equitable and quality health services.

"In the spirit of Segulai Sejalai, let us continue to preserve unity, look after each other's well-being and communities and ensure that the health of the country continues to be protected", he said.

Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu said unity must be demonstrated through justice, mutual respect and development that can be enjoyed equally by all the people in Peninsula, Sabah and Sarawak.

He said the trust in government and politics should also translate into people's well-being, including ensuring food security of the country, protecting farmers, farmers, fishermen and ranchers as well as building policies that bring mercy and solutions, not hatred or division.

Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri also hoped that the ties between Sabah, Sarawak and Peninsula will continue to be strengthened in a spirit of mutual respect, understanding and cooperation.

As a child of Sarawak, Nancy said development must also continue to be enjoyed together, with every citizen regardless of whether in the city, rural or rural having the opportunity to build a better life and future.

Meanwhile, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing said the cultural, language, customs and heritage differences from Peninsula to Sabah and Sarawak are not separators, but rather treasures that enrich Malaysia's identity.

"While celebrating Malaysia Day under the theme 'Malaysia MADANI: Welfare Enjoyed', I call on all Malaysians to continue to maintain harmony, strengthen unity and cherish the uniqueness we share.

"This is the face of Malaysia that we want to show to the world during the Year Visiting Malaysia 2026-2027, a country not only beautiful to visit but also rich in culture, people's hospitality and spirit of solidarity", he said.

Minister of Public Works, Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi hopes that the spirit of Malaysia Day will continue to unite people in building a safer, more prosperous future.

"From Sabah to Sarawak, from the peninsula to all corners of the country, we are united by a spirit of charity, unity and love for our beloved homeland. In our diversity of cultures, nationalities and backgrounds, we continue to stand together as one Malaysian family", he said.

Following greetings on Malaysia Day were Minister of Higher Education Dr Zambry Abd Kadir, Minister in the Department of Prime Minister (Laws and Institutional Reform) Mr Azalina Othman Said and Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo.

Similar remarks were made by the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Datuk Chang Lih Kang, Minister of Agriculture and Commodities Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad as well as the Minister of Natural Resources and Natural Sustainability Datuk Seri Arthur Joseph Kurup. -TVS
