KUCHING, 14 September: Malaysia Day Festival Exhibition expanded to 10 other parts in Sarawak, besides opening in Kuching, Putrajaya and Kota Kinabalu.
The Minister of Communications, Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil said the parts are called Serian, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri and Limbang.
He said the exhibition was held to give people an opportunity to understand and experience the history of Malaysia's formation as well as the 1963 Malaysian Treaty (MA63).
"We can see and trace the history of the process from 1961 to the idea expressed by late Tunku Abdul Rahman until the formation of Malaysia on September 16, 1963", he said.
Fahmi said this at the press conference of the inaugural Malaysia National Level 2026 Celebration Day Welcome Exhibition here, today.
The exhibition, held from 10 to 15 September, used a large-scale gallery concept and showcased the corridors of Malaysia's formation era.
He said the gallery has been worked on together with the Malaysian National Archives of Sarawak and the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS).
Among them were an exhibition of information on the ethical and orderly use of the Gemilang Line as well as information on the theme and logo of National Day and Malaysia Day 2026.
"I hope that many will be able to see, understand and then join the spirit and celebrate Malaysia Day", he said. -TVS
