Malaysia, Sweden have experienced health sector cooperation

KUCHING, Sept. 22: Malaysia and Sweden explore potential cooperation in the health sector through sharing expertise, experience and best practices between the two countries.

Deputy Minister of Health, Dato Hanifah Hajar Taib received a visit by the Swedish Embassy delegation to Malaysia headed by Deputy Head of Mission, Mr Sebastian Magnusson today.

He said the meeting was a platform for both sides to exchange views on various aspects of health sector, including expertise related to medical equipment and technology as well as health facilities.

"The discussions also touched on the potential of cooperation in health, particularly through the sharing of expertise, experience and best practices between Malaysia and Sweden.

"Both sides also discussed strategic cooperation opportunities that can be developed jointly taking into account current needs of the health sector", he said.

He said that sharing of technology and expertise is also seen to have the potential to help improve the effectiveness of delivery of health services to the community.

"Every proposal and plan discussed should be translated in a practical, effective and sustainable manner.

"Every form of cooperation implemented should be of real benefit to the community and contribute to improving people's well-being", he said. -TVS
