KUCHING (Oct 13): Individuals who have received letters of demand from the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) for overdue payments for overparking coupons are urged to take appropriate action.
Kuching South Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng advised them not to worry excessively but approach the city council if they have any questions or face any problems.
“Do not overreact if you have received such letter of demand, MBKS is ready and willing to communicate and coordinate to address this issue,” he said during his Facebook live session ‘Shall WEE Talk’ yesterday.
Wee confirmed that MBKS has send out more than 100 letters of demand, which are neither scams nor fake news.
He said these documents serve as reminders for recipients to settle their overparking coupons before the city council takes further steps to press for these overdue payments.
He also mentioned thata more letters of demand would soon be delivered to the intended recipients.
“Please be reminded that the 50 per cent discount offered for the settlement of overparking coupons by MBKS has been extended to Dec 13.
“With such extension, we hope that more of those who have been issued with overparking coupons will make payments as soon as possible,” said the mayor.
On another note, Wee said Sarawak recorded zero rabies cases over the past week.
However, he appealed to the community to remain vigilant and take necessary actions to curb the spread of the disease.
He urged pet owners not to miss out on a mass rabies vaccination campaign to be organised by the Padawan Municipal Council end of this month.
He said this campaign will also include licencing and microchip implantation for dogs.
