KUALA LUMPUR, 15 Oct: The development of the digital platform INTRODUCTION by the Asia Tower has the potential to shorten the duration of business of the construction industry up to three months, thereby reducing the operating costs of industrial players.
Minister of Public Works, Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi said the platform made it easy for contractors and suppliers to obtain information regarding construction products, material prices as well as certifications issued by relevant authorities.
"I hope that this platform will fully benefit the players of the country's construction industry, especially in facilitating business and obtaining information related to building materials prices.
"Our big hope is that all construction business can be streamlined, including in terms of obtaining information and certification from the Public Works Department (JKR) and the Malaysian Construction Industry Development Board", he said.
He said this at a press conference after completing the launch of MENARABENA in the capital, today.
The meeting was attended by the Executive Chairman of Towers Asia, Datuk Seri Saiful Nizam and Deputy Chief Executive Board of Malaysian Construction Industry Development, Datuk Dr Gerald Sundaraj.
According to him, the implementation of the platform is in line with Malaysia's Digital Action Plan 2030 (MD2030) agenda by accelerating the work of the construction industry which previously took longer.
Nanta at the same time announced that the platform is expected to start operating in Sarawak by the end of this month, while expansion to Sabah is expected to be implemented by the end of this year.
Obviously, bulk material purchases through the platform also have the potential to add value to industry players through cost savings and more efficient use of resources. - TVS
