ADVERTISE HERE
MIRI (Sept 6): A cat’s luck held true when it was rescued from an engine compartment of a four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle at Luak Esplanade here on Thursday night.
The 48-year-old owner of the vehicle, upon hearing meowing coming from the engine compartment, immediately turned off the ignition.
Concerned for the cat’s safety, he immediately called the emergency line for help.
The Miri Civil Defence Force (APM) responded promptly after receiving the call around 7.10pm.
A team of four, led by Pvt Margarett Andam, arrived quickly and located the cat stuck near the radiator.
“The squad managed to safely remove the feline from the engine compartment and handed it over to the man, ending the operation at 7.39pm,” Margarett said, adding the cat was unhurt throughout the ordeal.
