Miri Crude Oil Terminal team makes study visit to Lutong Bomba station

MIRI (Sept 28): The management team of Miri Crude Oil Terminal (MCOT) recently made a study visit to the Lutong Fire and Rescue (Bomba) station, aimed at fostering knowledge exchange and enhancing operational synergy between the two organisations.

Led by MCOT Bomba Services commander Abdul Latif Sabeng, the delegation was given a detailed briefing on the station’s history, jurisdiction and operational scope, conducted by Lutong Bomba station chief Henry Jugah.

The briefing provided insights into the station’s responsibilities and highlighted key areas of concern including flood-prone zones and risk areas for wildlife, along with a presentation of the station’s risk data.

The delegation was also given a comprehensive tour around the station and visited the Conducive Public Sector Ecosystem (Eksa) corner, the Information Corner and other operational hubs.

Abdul Latif praised Lutong Bomba station for its commitment to excellence, especially in maintaining a well-organised and clean facility, serving as a model for other agencies.

“Bomba personnel in general have demonstrated significant expertise, particularly in initiatives like Eksa and Go Green.

“Their station management is highly commendable and it provides an excellent example of how meticulous organisation can enhance overall effectiveness,” he said.

Abdul Latif further emphasised the importance of teamwork in Bomba services, noting that collaboration between agencies strengthened overall capabilities in emergency response.

“This study visit signifies the ongoing cooperation between MCOT and Lutong Bomba station, as well as the importance of a shared commitment to learn from each other to improve our services,” he said.
