Miri MP vows to enhance district healthcare services

MIRI (July 15): Miri MP Chiew Choon Man says he will work closely with the Miri District Health Office to ensure better healthcare services for the district.

Chiew said he had recently contributed five ceiling fans and 100 plastic chairs to Miri Polyclinic at Jalan Merbau, during which he was informed that the clinic’s queuing system was not functioning properly.

“I have received similar numerous complaints in the past from patients who dealt with the queuing issue.

“This issue has been brought to the attention of the district health office, and hopefully a solution will be implemented soon,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Moreover, Chiew said the contribution of the ceiling fan and plastic chairs were to improve the clinic’s environment, ensuring patients can wait comfortably for their appointments and staff members can work in a more conducive setting.

He emphasised the significance of cooperation from the district health office to achieve better healthcare quality for local communities.

“As an elected representative, I am committed to supporting our public healthcare system and improving the quality of healthcare services in my constituency,” he said.
