“I teach boxing, MMA, and Wushu Sanda to kids aged 6 to 12 at MMA Sports Hub.

“Seeing their progress and preparing them for competitions brings me immense joy,” she said.

Studying at Cyberjaya College Kuching, Pang started her Mixed Martial Arts journey at 20 with Tsan Nieng Khai, known as Coach Khaiju, who is the president of Sarawak Mixed Martial Arts Association, and owner of MMA Sports Hub at Boulevard Shopping Mall.

“Through martial arts, I discovered my passion and interest in physiotherapy, which I aim to use to assist athletes in the future,” Pang shared with New Sarawak Tribune recently.

Pang, under the Mad Fight Mixed Martial Arts Club, describes her training regime as challenging yet fulfilling and expressed gratitude to her coach and teammates for their unwavering support.

“Fight camp training will consist of 6 hours daily, split into 3 hours in the morning and 3 hours in the evening.

“Victory in fights feels worthwhile, thanks to the time and sacrifices made by my coach and teammates. Their support has been crucial,” she expressed.

Managing her time between studies and training posed challenges, but Pang credits her recent success to Coach Khaiju’s support in balancing both aspects.

“Coach Khaiju responsibly ensures athletes’ meals are healthy and proper, helping them maintain their weight.

“Coach (also) ensures I have enough time for studying and training. His scheduling expertise and focus on athletes’ wellbeing are invaluable,” she said.

Pang, inspired by fighters like Stamp Fairtex and Itsuki Hirata from One Championship, encourages more women to join mixed martial arts.

“It’s empowering and practical. Don’t hesitate to try it; MMA offers skills that benefit daily life.”

Reflecting on her journey to AMMA 2024, Pang recalled representing Malaysia at AMMA Championship 2023 in Bangkok, Thailand where she secured silver after challenging opponents from China.

Pang shared that after immersing herself in mixed martial arts, she discovered her true passions and interests where her coach guided her towards physiotherapy, where she saw herself aiding athletes in their journey.

“This marks only the beginning of my journey. I am committed to training hard and competing to the best of my abilities,” she said, outlining her ambitious future plans.
