KUCHING (Aug 12): Banker Mohammad Tony Ong Abdullah has been re-elected to lead the Malaysian Chinese Muslim Association (Macma) Sarawak branch for another term until 2026.

The RHB Banking Group Sarawak regional director’s re-election was confirmed during the Macma Sarawak branch’s 25th annual general meeting (AGM) held at the Sarawak Islamic Information Centre here recently.

“Sarawak State Financial Secretary’s Office Finance and Administrative Division director Noor Rashidah Abdullah is the deputy chairperson,” according to a press release issued by Macma Sarawak branch.

The elected committee members are Voon Choon Siong, Azura Liaw Abdullah, Zurina Tan Abdullah, Mohd Ammar Choo Abdullah and Amirul Abdullah.

The branch pointed out that the newly-elected committee members will appoint up to five additional committee members to complete the new line-up for the 2024-2026 term.

Minister for Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah, who is also Macma Sarawak branch honorary advisor, officiated at the AGM.

Macma Sarawak branch said a total of 17 members’ children who excelled in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM), Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) and Public Higher Learning Institutions (IPTAs) examinations had been awarded cash incentives totalled RM11,050.
