Motorcyclist killed in accident with truck near Bintulu

BINTULU (Aug 8): A 32-year-old motorcyclist lost his life after crashing into a rigid truck at KM33, Jalan Pan Borneo Miri-Bintulu, yesterday.

Bintulu police chief Supt Nixon Joshua Ali said the fatal accident occurred at 5.57pm.

“The rigid truck was traveling from Miri towards Bintulu. As it was entering a junction, a motorcycle coming from behind crashed into it,” he said in a statement.

As a result of the collision, Nixon said the motorcyclist sustained severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.

The truck driver did not suffer any physical injuries.

Nixon called on witnesses of the accident to contact investigating officer Insp Lydia Allan at the Bintulu Traffic Police Station on 086-338575 or the IPD Bintulu Operations Room on 086-318304.
