Motorcyclist killed in single-vehicle accident in Bintulu

SIBU (Sept 1): A 21-year old motorcyclist was killed in a single vehicle accident at Jalan Tun Razak in Tanjung Batu, Bintulu yesterday.

Bintulu District Police Chief Supt Nixon Joshua Ali said the incident occurred at about 3.20am when the victim was riding from Kemena Commercial Centre towards Bintulu Market.

“At Jalan Tun Razak Tanjung Batu, the victim suddenly lost control of his motorcycle and crashed onto the shoulder of the road.

“The victim was thrown onto the road as a result of the accident,” he said in a statement.

Nixon said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from Bintulu Hospital.

He said the case is investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987.

Nixon also reminded the public not to make any speculation or spread false news regarding the incident.
