KUCHING (Sept 6): The Sarawak Transformation and Innovation Unit (STIU) and Sarawak Divisional Administration have successfully extended their Quality Management System (QMS) based on MS ISO 9001:2015 certification until 2026.

Deputy State Secretary Datu Hii Chang Kee said in a Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) report that this success is the result of the hard work and dedication of staff, along with strong support from top management.

“We are constantly striving to enhance the efficiency and quality of our services.

“This achievement shows that Sarawak’s Public Service is on the right track to continue providing the best service to the people of Sarawak,” he said.

This achievement reflects Sarawak’s continued commitment to ensuring the effectiveness and quality of services at the Divisional Administration level and meeting international standards consistently.

The MS ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System implemented by both entities focuses on customer satisfaction, process efficiency, risk management, and continuous improvement.

With this performance, Sarawak continues to set an example in empowering effective and efficient public service quality, benefiting society as a whole.

To ensure this outstanding performance is maintained, STIU and the Sarawak Divisional Administration have implemented various innovative initiatives such as improving data management systems, automating processes and providing continuous training for staff.

These initiatives not only increase operational efficiency but also ensure that the services provided remain relevant and competitive in the rapidly evolving digital era.

Meanwhile, STIU director Superi Awang Said said this achievement also reflects the department’s commitment to adhering to international standards and ensuring that all work procedures and documentation are systematically handled.

“We believe that strong quality management is key to excellent service.

“Therefore, we will continue to innovate and enhance the organisation’s capabilities to meet the needs and expectations of the people,” he added.

MS ISO 9001:2015 is a globally recognised quality management standard.

It aims to help organisations meet customer requirements and comply with relevant regulations through an effective and efficient system.

With this success, Sarawak further strengthens its position as a leader in quality public administration in Malaysia.

This outstanding achievement is also expected to catalyse improvement in the quality and productivity of other government departments, further strengthening public confidence in Sarawak’s service delivery system.
